Individualized instruction for the mentally retarded

Children in special education classes must, like all others, learn to cope with themselves--their physical bodies and health needs, their need for rest and recreation, and their emotions. They have to cope with others, with teachers, parents, their peer group, with both younger and older people in the social and political environment. Practice and opinion vary with respect how to best arrange for their opportunities for maximum learning, but this book is designed to assist teachers in this most difficult task--providing learning experiences that will in some measure meet the needs of mentally retarded pupils.
