Drawing

This introductory drawing text is designed around a series of related exercises to develop fluency in drawing, experience in handling media, self-confidence, and an understanding of art elements and their role in pictorial space. The text focuses on diligence and commitment to the practice of drawing, providing examples of works on paper, prints, watercolors, paintings, photography, and sculpture, and including works by a number international artists. The revised fifth edition includes analysis of new works; gesture and other beginning approaches; spatial relationships of the art elements; shape, plane, and volume; thematic development; and a look at art today.
