About
When a terrorist hatches a plot to kidnap the President of the United States in his revenge driven attempt to take over the country of Colombia, a busted drug deal in New Orleans tips off an NOPD detective. But to what? The twists and turns that lead from the French Quarter to the deep blue waters off of a Caribbean island take “Slats” as he was known to his team, on a passionate dream-haunted trip deep into the ocean and to a firefight high above the archipelago. The journey reconnects him with a past love affair that has haunted him for decades, often coloring his libido-driven fantasies and threatening his marriage. When NOPD bureaucratic skepticism leads to impasse, Slats decides to follow the lead on his own. That takes him and his wife to the island of Grand Turk, a renowned enclave for deep water scuba diving. There he believes he will find an answer to the puzzle surrounding the busted drug deal, and a trail leading to its origin. What he finds is his former lover, now in the employ of an ill but unrelenting drug lord, and an ominous plan. But before he can decipher the clues pointing to the drug lord's prime objective, he almost falls victim to a plot that would have drowned him deep in the ocean. Instead the attempt severely injures his wife, who he evacuates from harms way, leaving him vulnerable to his former lover's wiles. It when he is sitting alone in an island bar watching politics on television, that the pieces fall together in his mind. And only moments later he is engaged in a one-sided firefight in the skies over Grand Turk. Grand Turk is a thriller that moves fast on land, on sea and in the sky.
