Septembra 1991. godine gotovo svi hrvatski profesionalni pop muzičari okupili su se u jednom televizijskom studiju da bi u band-aid stilu snimili budnicu koja će postati jedan od najuspešnijih projekata novoosnovane nacionalne televizije. Oni malobrojni koji se nisu pojavili rešavali su porodične krize ili su se otisnuli na vlastite turneje po hrvatskoj dijaspori gde su sakupljali novac kako bi dodatnim sredstvima i medicinskim zalihama doprineli ratnom sukobu. Odsutne su bile i zvezde iz drugih jugoslovenskih republika uz koje su slušaoci supergrupe Hrvatski Band Aid nesmetano odrasli. Najednom strani izvodjači novotalasnog roka, zabavne i novokomponovane narodne muzike bili su žrtve, a ponekad i sukobljene strane, u simboličnom ratu protiv neodredjenosti, takodje upleteni u sve složenije definicije nacionalnog identiteta u sopstvenim državama.
