Le Maghreb, zone stratégique importante, région charnière entre l'Europe, l'Afrique noire et le Moyen-Orient, est un espace ou les événements trouvent un écho immédiat au sein même de la société française, ce Maghreb est aujoud'hui en pleine mutation. Quelques évenements-clefts survenus à la fin de la décennie 1980 marque un tournant important dans l'histoire de la région: crise de légitimité des régimes, contestation de nature politique, économique, culturelle et religieuse. Cet ouvrage, fruit d'un programme de recherche mené à l'Institut Français des Relations Internationales, mêle l'analyse politique, sociologique, économique et stratégique pour une meilleure compréhension de cette région et des redoutables défis auxquelles sont confontés les cinqs pays du Grand Maghreb, qui entendent faire de l'Union du Maghreb une réalité de demain = The Maghreb, a strategically important area, a hinge region between Europe, Black Africa and the Middle East, is an area where the events have an immediate echo even in the French society. This Maghreb is changing today. Some key events which occurred at the end of the 1980s marked a milestone in the history of the region: the crisis of regimes' legitimacy, challenging of political, economic, cultural and religious nature. This book is the result of a research program led by the French Institute of International Relations, presents a political, sociological, economic and strategic analysis for a better understanding of this region and the formidable challenges which face the five countries of the Greater Maghreb, which will make from the Maghreb Union a reality of tomorrow.
