This is going to be the year—the one where I have my first kiss. I’m not talking about those sloppy kisses I’ve already experienced. Like the time Matthew Leonard almost swallowed my whole face.

I’m talking about that kiss.

The one Mama told me to never give up searching for. The kiss that will ruin all others. The one that makes your heart explode, spreading right to the tips of your fingers and toes. It silences the world around you, making it come to a complete standstill.

I've been waiting on this moment my whole life. Carter Mills doesn't know it yet, but he's going to be my first kiss, and if all goes as planned, he'll be my last.
