Professor Boddupalli Purushottam (1927 - 2000) was on outstanding Telugu grammarian, linguist, writer, teacher, speaker and equally important, an inspiring humanist. This commemorative volume brings out the various facets of Prof. Purushottam. In the **first section**, his life and humane qualities are portrayed by his family members and close relatives. In the **second section**, a few of his contemporaries, friends and students recollect his enormous influence as a researcher, analyst and guru par excellence. The **third section** comprises an introduction of his seminal works, reviews of his selected publications by reputed Telugu scholars, including reprint of an article published in the *Journal of Linguistic Anthropology* wherein Professor Purushottam's poineering work on Telugu grammar was extensively quoted. In the **fourth section**, some of the unpublished works of Professor Purushottam (in both Telugu and English), including *‘Aravinduni Geetahridayam’*, *‘Bhatruhari Subhashitanuvadam’* are presented.
