About
The bone, antler, ivory and horn artefacts from excavations and discoveries in York form a large assemblage of material. The range of artefacts ascribes to the versatility of the raw material and the complexity of its working in the manufacture of objects. The majority of artefacts are made from bone and antler, with horn and ivory far less common.
