This work uses textual hermeneutics to examine how we might conceive of myth as method. Following the central thesis that myth is uniquely suited for depicting cultural, historical, and social change, this book analyzes the topic through the examples of James Joyce's Ulysses, Aristotelian poetics, and the late writings of Paul Ricoeur. This interdisciplinary study makes a literary and philosophical contribution to elucidating the question of what we narrate when we are narrating myths.
