About
The work is set out in two parts: The first, namely grammar, provides a complete description of the language of the select classical text (Krishnagatha of the 15th centuryAD ) free from discussions on the genetic hypotheses and from bias for traditional grammars. The rules formulated are entirely data based; but not data bound. It is in this respect the title of the book is justifiable. The second part of the book is an exhaustive index of Krishnagatha. It records every morphological form occurring in the text alphabetically in phonemic transcription employing the roman script. Meaning and grammatical notes in English and reference to various occurrences of the concerned form in the text also have been added. In effect it is the first exegetic dictionary of Malayalam.
