A Tale of Silence and Storm (Volume 1)

A storm is approaching.

The words of House Elsworth bear witness to the state of a realm in uproar. As the winds carry more and more longships of plundering Northmen to the western shores of Ingoril, the king does nothing to protect his kingdom. He prefers to bathe in the glory of his fabulous ancestors, consumed by desire for an heir. Abandoned by their king, the guardians of the realm must face their enemies alone as the heads of the great houses prefer to keep a jealous watch over the guardians instead of helping them. Just as the mutual distrust reaches new heights, the Guardian of the South dies unexpectedly. By tradition, the heads of all great houses must witness the trials during which a new guardian needs to prove his worth. So, the Guardian of the West rides to his home region to summon Lord Elsworth. He cannot know that a longship of the Northmen is headed for the western shores. After its arrival, the realm will not be the same anymore. The past will cast its long shadow as three children will start a new life. A life one of them could not have imagined in his wildest dreams.
