Brownlow North (1810-1875) spent the first 40 years of his life as a rebel, resolutely turning his back on the Lord in spite of a godly upbringing. A serious illness brought him to consider spiritual things and he was converted. He spent the remainder of his life preaching the Gospel, vigorously appealing to sinners to be reconciled to God.

The Rich Man and Lazarus is condensed from sermons preached in Ulster during the revival of 1859 to vast crowds. Aiming to break the spiritual complacency of his age, his appeals still stir the soul to seek real spiritual riches.

First published in 1869, this edition has been completely re-typeset for issue as an eBook.
