About
In this process, the main goal was to produce graphic images with afro descendant women from Medellín or who came from other places. These images were intended to "reproduce" the purpose of brush watercolor in essence. The proposal of participation involved the realization of a workshop with Afro-Colombian women in which an appropriation work was carried out on the visual culture and the representation of the Afro, an active appropriation of the image of the Comisión Corográfica (Corographic Commission) and others that were proposed by the group, which represent black people, with the intention of altering, transforming, observing and analyzing them to produce new images that circulate and that account for the gaze of the Afro-Colombian women inhabitants of Medellín questioning being the object of representation and seeking to be producers of content. With these images produced in the workshop we make digital images, photos, posters, postcards, stencils and serigraphs that will be distributed in the city, in the areas and places where black people are located or that, due to their absence, are pertinent. These routes, defined by the women participating in the workshop, allow a transversal reading of the city. Participants: Deyanira Valdés, Yobana Millán Busts, Sixta Ibargüen Mosquera, Darily Chaverra, Gladys Ortega, Natividad Murillo, Maryluz Arredondo Quintero, Marlen Córdoba, Connie Tatiana Mena C., Yesenia Liseth Becerra, Liliana Isabel Hinestroza, Belibeth Valencia F., Luzmila Herrera I., Luz Marina Córdoba G., Sindy Milena Arriaga, Lina Osiris Campaña, Tatiana Lemus Uribe, María Leonisa Ibargüen, Ana Lina Rodríguez, Yarley Murillo, Luis Alfonso Becerra, María Ernes, Wendy y Verónica Quinto y Carlos Nicolás Santos.
