"She"lock: The Reluctant Wedding Guest

Meet Harlow Shelock—Kappa president who presides over a small midwestern college with her sharp tongue and exotic looks. Shelock is notorious for solving delicate situations to the satisfaction of all parties. One might call her one of the most successful female "detectives" around. Fellow Kappa, Kay Watson, knows there is something otherwordly about Shelock—from her appearance to her devil-may-care attitude. But one night at a mixer, Shelock seeks out Kay's assistance.

Kay goes along with it. Besides, who has the guts to defy a direct order from the ice queen? In meeting Shelock, she discovers it's her very presence that's needed; as Shelock's "date" for an upcoming wedding. Initially thrown, Kay wants to back out. But Shelock insists that something is afoot with Bruton Wollenhaupt's forthcoming nuptials. True, he left Shelock at the altar all those years ago, but she's concerned about his new love, Barbie Bransma. Plus, Bruton has been suffering from a mysterious illness. Could, perhaps, the two incidents be linked?

Shelock wants to find out, but she needs a companion. Kay fits the bill, and soon the twosome are off to a luxurious resort in the heart of Vail, Colorado. But dabbling in detective work proves dangerous when Kay's life is threatened on a scheduled wedding party outing. What once appeared to be a casual favor has turned deadly. Can Kay extricate herself from Shelock and her murderous companions, or is this one wedding party that will double as a funeral?
