About
Abracham (Abe) Eiffel, III is an elderly descendant of an Alabama textile pioneer who, like his fathers before him, has carried on the tradition of growth and prestige which symbolizes his financial empire. He has, however, over recent years become bitter and reclusive due to the painful loss of his family. His lonely existence is disturbed one evening by the invasion of an intruder who takes him hostage in his own faded old mansion, the Tower of Eiffel. The unlikely intruder is Nicole Parker, a street-tough, fourteen year old girl who is running from her own version of hell: an abusive foster home and impending criminal charges. The generational differences of these two characters are offset by the similarities that are mirrored in their personalities and situations as an odd rapport develops between them and they struggle together to rebuild their damaged lives.
