Through the doorway walked the bald man who had been in her kitchen. He smiled at her reassuringly. The doorway slid closed behind him. He was almost six feet tall and seemed very fit. Emily felt impressions in her mind: compassion, warmth, caring, concern for her safety and well-being, confusion that she was disoriented. She felt a strong desire to help her, and on the tail end of that a sexual desire for her.

That made her giggle pleasantly again. He smiled turning his head slightly to the side, pleased that his thoughts were making her happy. Still feeling drunk and a little out of control, Emily looked him over appraisingly. After being rejected by Tom so thoroughly she had not felt she was desirable to anyone. It was a feeling that had contributed greatly to her depression for the last week. Now this strange green man wanted her. She could feel it in her head.
