About
Divakar Rao's "Life on the run" is an enthralling account of his life as a student, teacher, educationist and a witty raconteur. His life has indeed been an adventure and his journey traverses several countries: including India, Fiji, England, New Zealand, Cook Islands and Australia. He rose to a senior position in Fiji's Ministry of Education and was instrumental in devising a reformist and more relevant high school science syllabus. But like many other talented people, he chose to leave his home country after the 1987 military coup. He recounts his story in a lucid yet elegant language, peppered with wit and humour and numerous encounters and anecdotes that creat a colourful tapestry of an adventurous life.
