Opportunities Need Closet Space: The Intuitive Art of Clearing & Organizing Our Closets

There are a great deal of things lurking in the depths of our closets – dirty little secrets, outdated beliefs, raw emotions, and memories we might prefer to forget. Our wardrobes represent a deep part of ourselves. Our history. Piece by piece, each item tells a story and is deeply rooted in ourselves in some way or another.

Closets overflowing with memories and energy from the past have but one goal in mind – keep us firmly stuck in a familiar sense of who we are. Or, at least, who we were. For who we are is always evolving, learning and growing from life’s experiences.

So why are most of our wardrobes struggling to keep up?

Never underestimate the power our closets hold. They are either flowing naturally forward along with our lives, or stagnant, tied to the past, preventing us from fully stepping into our now. And without room to grow, there’s certainly not enough space to accommodate new opportunities or embrace the person we are becoming.

But when we are able to acknowledge and release the emotions and memories attached to unloved or unworn items, the results can be miraculous.

We have all the tools available to us to discover what limited thoughts and beliefs may be holding us back from living the life we desire. The clues are often linked to the things we own. So why not consider the idea that as we release a physical tie to an item, we are also able to intuitively release the non-physical connection as well.

Clearing out our closet then becomes a truly mindful, therapeutic experience. One of self-discovery, empowering choices, and a release far greater than just stuff. And when we are able to release outdated items, resisting the urge to immediately fill the emptiness, we are providing space for something extraordinary to occur in our lives.
