Fangs For The Memories

How could a book about the memoirs of a late 1960s dental mechanic be of the slightest interest to anyone outside the trade, you might wonder. Who wants to know about people scrabbling around with pumice, plaster and poisonous chemicals in dank, dusty cubby-holes, speaking about frenums, labial bows and the properties of acrylic monomers and polymers in half-understanding gibberish. Good point.

Well, if that’s all this was about I would agree and suggest that you read no further. That’s really just what this little offering based around and the bulk of it’s made up of the scrapes, adventures and japes that my chums and I got up to, in or out of The Lab, between 1969 and 1988.

It’s made up of a mixture of published articles from The Dental Technician magazine and added extras. I’m told it’s amusing and interesting. That remains to be seen but I hope you’ll have a look. I hope it’ll make you laugh and give you some sort of insight into what the life of a long-haired, rock music loving, motorcycling, free-spirited child of the times was like in the dusty, sepia-toned, pre-Elvis tinged drudgery that was my place of employment for those nineteen extraordinary years.
