TANDARA : THE THREE SISTERS (book one)

Story Synopsis:

In the fantasy world of Glyn a darkness is spreading across the land. An eleven year-old girl, Ja-Day, begins a journey to find the only one who can save her world, a human boy. Along the way Ja-Day encounters mystical dragons, vicious sea creatures, raging rivers and most dangerous of all - the big cities of earth.

Writing Sample:

THE DRAGONS ATTACK!

The dragon hovers, its great wings beat steadily as it stares menacingly at the three whom have invaded its nest. Alex notes with dread the dragon's dark green scales. They are face to face with the most dangerous dragon of all. Powerful jaws, fiery breath and razor sharp talons, each just as lethal as the next. But the dragon keeps its distance. `Why doesn't it attack?'

"What's it doing?" Alex can barely emit a hoarse whisper.

"Maybe it's as scared of us as we are of it."

Alex looks at Jamie dumbfounded, he couldn't have really just said that.
Suddenly Alex's question has a real answer. What is it doing? It was waiting for backup. From behind Ja-Day and the boys another dragon rises up from below the cliff face. They're trapped. The female has joined its mate in protection of their nest.

Dragons, the royalty of the sky. Those whom bare witness feel compelled to bow there heads, whether through reverence or fear, it is said to be the only chance to survive an encounter. Ja-Day knows these legends well. "Unna silk will tollah." As a sign of ultimate respect she prostrates herself at the feet of Distan the male dragon. "Will tollah."

Distan beats the air as it considers Ja-Day's act of appeasement. Suddenly the male dragon speaks, "Will tollah, silka krill." He lifts his head into the air and breathes a terrifying inferno of fire.
