Purgatorium (Tales from Purgatorium Book 1)

Jim didn't really die did he? Josephus and this bar called Purgatorium were an elaborate dream, weren't they? A soul doesn't have to win Heaven if it passes before being wholly in His Grace, does it?

Purgatorium holds the answers to all of Jim's questions and leads him to his Tasks to win Heaven! Can he complete them in time to rejoin his wife beyond the Pearly Gates?

Purgatorium lays the ground work for the series Tales from Purgatorium by Victor J Porter. We are introduced to Josephus, the bartender and caretaker of Purgatorium and Purgatory respectively, and Jim, the first of the souls to follow as he completes his Tasks.

Tasks are set by Josephus based on the Ledger and are ranked in difficulty based on the incursion that requires the Task.

But Jim does have his Free Will and all souls are given the opportunity to chose their Path before the Task is assigned. Will he choose Tolkienesque Fantasy, Heinlein inspired Science Fiction, or Historical Fiction within his own timeline? Whatever the Path, he will find adventures unknown to him before in pursuit of holy relics or while trying to save the souls of others that have lost their way in Purgatory itself.

Heaven hangs in the balance and the Father of Lies continues to try to tilt even Purgatory so that souls choose him or at least a persistent existence in Purgatory over crossing the Pearly Gates!
