Educated at Durham School, Trinity College (Oxford) and Emmanuel College (Cambridge). Vicar of Merrington, County Durham (1682-1720). Lecturer at All Saints, Newcastle. Chaplain to Lord Grey. Vicar of Croft, Lincolnshire (1720). Lecturer at St Giles in the Fields (London). Minister of Holy Trinity, Knightsbridge.
