Charles Martin

Charles Martin is a photographer, filmmaker, writer and past chair of Comparative Literature at Queens College-City University of New York. Martin exhibits frequently in New York where, at June Kelly Gallery, he has had eight solo shows, as well as the recent “Faces, Figures, Fantasy,” the inaugural exhibition at Global Vision Art Gallery, Brooklyn. Museum solo exhibitions include Museu Histórico e Artístico do Maranhão (São Luís do Maranhão, Brazil), Musée Public National d’Art Moderne et Contemporain (Algiers, Algeria), Musée de la Halle St. Pierre (Paris), and Alice Austen House Museum (Staten Island, NY). Other solo shows have been at the Afro-American Cultural Center, Yale University (New Haven, CT), University of Wisconsin-Madison, and West Virginia University, as well as galleries in Brazil in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Cuiabá. -faculty profile
