Saod A. Alseyab was born in Abifkhmeeb, southern Iraq, on August 13, 1948. He received the B. SC. degree in electncaf engineering with the equivalent of first-class honors from the University of Basrah, Iraq, in 1969, the M. SC. and Ph.D. degrees in microwave communications engineering from the University of Leeds, Yorkshire, England, in 1976 and 1979, respectively. From 1969 to 1974 he was an Instructor and Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Basrah. He was the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Basrah, Iraq.
