Sewak Nayyar
Born in 1948 at Delhi, Sewak Nayyar did his Honours in Hindi followed by MA in English and Postgraduate Diploma in Jourtnalism and Public Relations. While teaching at Government College, Malerkotla, he did research on American novelist Norman Mailer for his M Lit. His poetry and stories were published in various Urdu and Hindi magazines. He entered IDES in 1976 and retired in 2008. A number of Middles and features written by Nayyar have been published in The Tribune, Indian Express and Times of India. He formed an amateur theatre group Yavnika in 1983 and has directed and staged a number of world famous plays. He has translated 50 One Act Plays of different languages into Hindi which have been printed by Yavnika Publications. He also wrote and directed a video film Kehar on the theme of AIDS. He lives in the city of Pune.
