The day that Daniel S. Mitrovich first ran in the New York City Marathon was a day that changed his life. Upon discovering that Marathon founder, Fred Lebow, had cancer, Dan resolved that Fred Lebow should be honored, first, by President George Herbert Walker Bush, and second, that a more permanent tribute should be found to memorialize Mr. Lebow.
